Special requests (application for 1st semester)

The permission of a "Härtefallantrag" results in admission prior to every other applicant/priority admission. Hence, every request is subjected to strict standards set by TU Berlin.

Examples of exceptional circumstances:

• medical reasons
• on compassionate grounds
• disability
• economical/financially and social reasons

Applicants need to prove by supporting that admission in every other university outside from Berlin is unreasonable due to one of the listed circumstances plus the waiting period for the preferred course will be for over 4 semesters.

Härtefallantrag (Additional application form for special consideration request)

You are eligible to request compensation for disadvantage if you have been incapable to take the final high school exams within the required time (delayed high school diploma) due to particular reasons, e.g. illness. The request need to contain proper proof and a supporting report by the attended high school along to a certified copy of your higher education entrance qualification.

Antrag auf Verbesserung der Wartezeit (Additional application form "Wartezeitverbesserung")

You may raise your grade point average if you can prove that you have been unable to complete high school ("Abitur"/"Hochschulreife") with a higher GPA trough no fault of your own. The request need to contain proper proof and a supporting report by the attended high school along to a certified copy of your higher education entrance qualification. Additional the report needs to contain precise suggestion on how to raise your GPA.

A dedicated quota applies to applicants who are eligible persons relating to sports, in particular members of any A-, B-, C- or D/C team of the German Olympic Sports Confederation residing in one of the training centers in Berlin or Brandenburg. If you are minor / under age (under 18) at the time of application you may request admission grounded on underage students quota if you resides in Berlin or Brandenburg (federal state) with a person having the care and custody you.
