Student's public transportation pass ("Semesterticket")

The semester ticket is your ticket for public transportation in Berlin (tarif zones A, B, and C). It is valid for one semester. The ticket is your student ID (campus card) with the valid semester ticket sticker ("Berlin A,B,C", typical ticket security criteria, the logo of the VBB, and information about the validity, e.g. Apr 15 - Sep 15).

As of the summer semester 2015, you must also carry a current certificate of enrollment with you and show it if your ticket is checked. A digital version on your smart phone, laptop, or tablet is not sufficient.

How and when can I get my "Semesterticket"?

You will receive the semester ticket (sticker for the campus card) by post after you have paid the semester fees during enrollment (you will receive it with your student ID) or during re-registration. The ticket stickers may not be passed on to others or sold. If we find out that a student has given away/sold a semester ticket, we reserve the right to press criminal charges.

Can I get a waiver from the "Semesterticket"?

In exceptional cases, you can request a waiver for the mandatory contribution for the semester ticket in the Semesterticket Office. The Semesterticket Office is located together with the Student Union (AStA).

You can find more information on submitting a request on the form to request a waiver from the semester ticket.
