If you intend to continue studying you will need to re-register for the upcoming semester by paying the announced fees (see below) within the re-registration period.

Please make sure that you arrange your re-registration on time. Otherwise you will not be able to continue your studies.

Information on your re-registration for the summer semester 2020

The emails for re-registration for the summer semester 2020 were sent to all students until February 10, 2020.

Please contact us if you have not received the email until February 10, 2020.

You will receive this email on your email address provided by TU Berlin. We recommend to regularly check your inbox for any new emails and ensure that your inbox has sufficient capacity. It is advisable to delete old emails, which are no longer relevant.

After the reception of this email, you will find all necessary information about your personal re-registration on tuPORT.

  • Your personal semester fees (can only paid by bank transfer)
  • Your personal reference for bank transfer (this reference has to be used mandatorily)
  • Required Uploads for re-registration, if any

If you have previously experienced problems receiving a re-registration notification by email, please contact the ZECM (IT-support).

Not receiving the notification to re-register does not excuse you from the obligation to re-register as required.

The deadline for re-registration is February 28, 2020.

What are the fees for re-registration?

Information on the exact amount of the semester fees that you have to transfer for re-registration can be found in the app "My Account Balance" in your TU portal.

TU Berlin account information

You can see the account information in your app "My Account Balance" in your TU portal. Please transfer the semester fees to this account exclusively.

IMPORTANT: While transferring the semester fees, please use the reference given in the app. The reference consists of a semester ID and your TUB-ID (your student number). Please use this reference only as your payment can otherwise not be booked.

International bank transfer

Please mind that many banking institutions charge extra fees for international bank transfers. Those fees will be directly deducted from the transferred amount. For re-registration, the semester fees have to be received in the full amount on the TU Berlin account. Therefore, please contact your banking institution before transferring the semester fees to check for extra fees.

How to check if my re-registration has been successful?

To check if your are successfully re-registered for the upcoming semester, please log into your TU portal and see the information in the menu "Information on re-registration". After successful re-registration, you will be able to print your updated enrollment certificate.

After the start of the upcoming semester, the electronic semester ticket on your Student ID will only be activated after successful re-registration.

Activation of your semester ticket for summer semester 2020

If your re-registration was successful and if you are authorized to use the semester ticket, the e-ticket on your Student ID Card will be activated automatically from the beginning of the semester on. You do not have to do anything else.

If you will get re-registered after the beginning of the semester, the e-ticket will be active on the day after the re-registration.

If your re-registration was not successful or if you have got an exemption from the semester ticket, the e-ticket will be inactive.

Semester ticket exemption

The "Semesterticket" is mandatory for all students.

In exceptional cases it is possible to get an exemption from this obligation.

If you do not want a semester ticket for the next semester, so please submit the form to request for exemption parallel to your re-registration. Choose the respective reason and add a proof.

If you have paid the full amount incl. the semester ticket fee, you will get a respective repayment as soon as the request is granted.

If you have an exemption for the current semester and if you want another one for the upcoming semester, you have to submit a new request.

An exception is only valid for one semester
