Cut-Off Grades / Restricted Admission

Cut-off grades provide information about which average Abitur grade (bachelor's application) or number of points in a selection process (master’s application) as well as which waiting period were used to allocate study placements in past semesters for degree programs with restricted admission. This allows you to estimate your chances of being admitted in the upcoming application procedure.

This information cannot, however, determine your acceptance or rejection, as grades, points, and waiting times for the upcoming semester cannot be predicted.

Bachelor's degree programs

The allocation of study placements for bachelor’s degree programs is based equally on the average Abitur grade and waiting periods.

The cut-off grades/numerus clausus (NC) apply to all bachelor’s applicants with a German university entrance qualification as well as citizens of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway with an international university entry qualification certificate.
