Re-registration

If you intend to continue studying you will need to re-register for the upcoming semester by paying the announced fees (see below) within the re-registration period.

Please make sure that you arrange your re-registration on time. Otherwise you will not be able to continue your studies.

Information about your re-registration for summer semester 2020

Dear Students,

It is currently not possible to re-register for summer semester 2020.

There will be a thorough overhaul of the system in the Office of Student Affairs in December 2019. We kindly therefore request that you wait until we notify you to do so before contacting us again regarding summer semester 2020. It will not be possible to successfully process a re-registration for any payments received before receipt of our official notification to re-register. 

As soon as the re-registration period begins, we will send you an email to the address you provided.

We recommend you regularly check your inbox for any new emails and ensure that your inbox has sufficient capacity. It is advisable to delete old emails which are no longer relevant.

If you have previously experienced problems receiving a re-registration notification by email, please contact the ZECM.

Not receiving the notification to re-register does not excuse you from the obligation to re-register as required.

All important information regarding re-registration will also be published in good time on our website.

Information about your re-registration for winter semester 2019/2020...

for all students regularly registered students of TU Berlin

Dear student,

Your re-registration in the same study program for the winter term 2019/2020 is possible with the beginning of June 17, 2019.

The period for your re-registration will end on July15, 2019.

For a successful re-registration, it is necessary to remit the semester fees and - if required in certain cases - additional documents. All relevant information regarding your re-registration procedure can be found in your personal TU portal. To get access to the information, please log in to the TU portal on the TU website and go to „Mein Profil > Rückmeldeinformationen“.

Please note that the semester fees can only be remitted by bank transfer; the money must be credited to TU Berlin's bank account by July 15, 2019, at the latest. Thus, we advise you to authorize the transaction until July 10, 2019, since the transfer may take up to three regular working days with no transactions at the weekend. You will find TU Berlin's bank account information below on this website. Please make sure that you indicate your name and student ID (Matrikelnummer) as reference when transferring the money.

All transactions reaching TU Berlin after July 15, 2019, cannot be accepted and you will have to pay a late payment surcharge of 19,94€. A re-registration under these requirements is possible until September 30, 2019. This regulation concerns all students incl. PhD students.

Please check the correctness of your personal date, particularly your postal address. An instruction is available on our website, quick access code 76315.

If you do not or cannot (“Rückmeldesperre”) re-register and if you do not apply for the termination of your enrolment, your enrollment will terminated ex officio. You will receive a letter about the termination of your enrollment by post.

Advice for students who have or will pass their degree during the current semester and will not continue their studies in winter term 2019/2020 in another program at TU Berlin:

In this case, you cannot continue your studies at TU Berlin. A re-registration for the following semester is excluded.

If you already got re-registered for the next semester and your graduation will be registered in our examination office in summer semester 2019, your re-registration for winter semester 2019/2020 has to be canceled. Your semester ticket will be deactivated and already printed or issued student certificates will lose their validity.

for students who studying at two universities in parallel, TU Berlin is not the primary university

Dear student,

Your re-registration in the same study program for the winter term 2019/2020 is possible from June 17 2019 on.

The period for your re-registration at TU Berlin will end on October 01 2019.

As a student, who is enrolled at another university (primary university) in Berlin or Brandenburg in parallel, you have to submit a confirmation of enrollment from this University ("Studienbescheinigung") for the next semester (including: program/subject, study semester) until October 01 2019 online. You do not have to pay any semester fees or a late fee at TU Berlin.

  • As a bachelor's student you can submit the confirmation of enrollment here.
  • As a master's student you can submit the confirmation of enrollment here.

In certain cases it is necessary to prove additional documents for a successful re-registration. All relevant information regarding your re-registration procedure can be found within the personal TU portal. To view this information, please log in to the TU portal on the TU webpage and go to „Rückmeldeinformationen“.

The fees have to be transfered. A payment at the university cash point or at the pay machine is not possible.

International bank transfer

Additional fees may occur for international bank transfer to Germany by your local bank or the receiving bank.

Activation of your semester ticket for winter semester 2019/2020

If your re-registration was successful and if you are authorized to use the semester ticket, the e-ticket on your Student ID Card will be activated automatically from the beginning of the semester on. You do not have to do anything else.

If you will get re-registered after the beginning of the semester, the e-ticket will be active on the day after the re-registration.

If your re-registration was not successful or if you have got an exemption from the semester ticket, the e-ticket will be inactive.

Semester ticket exemption

The "Semesterticket" is mandatory for all students.

In exceptional cases it is possible to get an exemption from this obligation.

If you do not want a semester ticket for the next semester, so please submit the form to request for exemption parallel to your re-registration. Choose the respective reason and add a proof.

If you have paid the full amount incl. the semester ticket fee, you will get a respective repayment as soon the request is granted.

If you have an exemption for the current semester and if you want another one for the upcoming semester, you have to submit a new request.

An exception is only valid for one semester

How to check my re-registration status?

Please LogIn into your personal TU Portal and go to "Mein Profil" >> "Rückmeldeinformation". After successful re-registration, you will get access to your updated confirmation of enrollment and receive the Semesterticket label via mail.
