Application checklists for a Master's degree course

In the following, please find our application checklists for a Master’s degree course at TU Berlin. There are two checklists.

If you have obtained/will soon obtain your undergraduate/primary university degree at TU Berlin, please apply directly at our university.

If this does not apply to you, please apply via uni-assist.

Checklist for applicants who obtained their undergraduate/primary university degree at TU Berlin

For an application for a Master’s degree course at TU Berlin, the following documents must be submitted to the TU Berlin Graduate Admissions Office. All required documents must be sent by post completely and as simple copies in due time by the end of the application period:

  1. Application form for direct applicants of TU Berlin

  2. Copy of your undergraduate/primary university degree

    • including your university degree certificate as well as a summary of your study subjects, grades and credit points (transcript)

    or

  3. Proof of language proficiency 

    • Proof of English language proficiency

      • for international degree courses/degree courses with English as the language of instruction

    • Further certificates of language proficiency

      • please see the specific requirements of your desired Master’s degree course, if your program required further language proficiency

    • For more information on the required proofs of language proficiency of your desired degree course, please see the respective regulations for admission (“Zugangs- und Zulassungsordnung – ZZO”) (which can be found via the complete overview "Master’s programs")                                                        
    • General information on the proofs and certificates of language proficiency are provided on our website.

  4. Copy of your passport or ID card (biographical page with personal data)
  5. Further specific proofs and certificates (degree course related)

    • Some of our Master’s degree courses require further specific proofs or certificates. Please visit our website for more information on the specific requirements of your desired Master’s degree course.

  6. Current certificate of enrollment or certificate of exmatriculation

    • if you have/had been enrolled at a German university other than TU Berlin after your graduation (undergraduate)

  7. Proof of previous Master’s studies at a German university other than TU Berlin if applicable

    • summary of your study subjects, grades and credit points (transcript)
    • module descriptions
    • study and examinations regulations (“Studien- und Prüfungsordnung – StuPO”)
    • Further relevant proofs and certificates

  8. Application for a higher semester

Checklist for a Master's application via uni-assist

For an application for a Master’s degree course at TU Berlin, the following documents must be send by post to uni-assist completely and in due time by the end of the application period:

  1. Application form - print from the uni-assist portal
  2. Primary university degree/undergraduate degree - officially certified copy incl. official translation, if not issued in German or English

    • including your university degree certificate as well as a summary of your study subjects, grades and credit points (transcript)

    or

    • if you have not completed your Bachelor’s studies yet, an ECTS certificate

    • General information about the primary university degree/undergraduate degree is available here.

  3. Proof of language proficiency  - officially certified copy incl. official translation, if not issued in German or English

    • Proof of German language proficiency

      • for all degree courses with German as the language of instruction
      • A proof of German language proficiency is not required for applicants who are holding a German citizenship and/or a German university entrance qualification (Abitur, university degree, etc.)!

    • Proof of English language proficiency

      • for international degree courses/degree courses with English as the language of instruction

    • Further certificates of language proficiency

      • please see the specific requirements of your desired Master’s degree course, if your program required further language proficiency

    • For more information on the required proofs of language proficiency of your desired degree course, please see the respective regulations for admission (“Zugangs- und Zulassungsordnung – ZZO”) (which can be found via the complete overview "Master’s programs")

  5. Further specific proofs and certificates (degree course related) - officially certified copy incl. official translation, if not issued in German or English

    • Some of our Master’s degree courses require further specific proofs or certificates. Please visit our website for more information on the specific requirements of your desired Master’s degree course.

  6. Current certificate of enrollment or certificate of exmatriculation of the last German university that you were enrolled at - simple copy
  7. Proof of previous Master’s studies (at a German university) - simply copies or uploads on uni-assist portal

    • summary of your study subjects, grades and credit points (transcript)
    • module descriptions
    • study and examinations regulations (“Studien- und Prüfungsordnung – StuPO”)
    • Further relevant proofs and certificates

  8. Application for a higher semester
